Lakeshore Regional Police Service and High Prairie RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in Sucker Creek First Nation early in the morning on November 19th.
Police and paramedics arrived to find a 35-year-old man deceased. Police have not revealed the victim’s identity or cause of death. As a result of the investigation Police arrested Travis Myles Melnyk, 40, of High Prairie at 5:30 pm and charged him with first degree murder and forcible confinement.
As this matter is now before the Court, no further updates will be provided.
