Toronto police responded to the report of an assault at the High Park station at approximately 2:00pm on December 8th.
On arrival police located two adult women suffering from stab wounds. Both victims were rushed to hospital where Vanessa Kurpiewska, 31, died and a 37-year-old woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from hospital.
A man was arrested, however, police have not released his identity. Police said the accused and victims were not known to each other.
Update December 9th
Neng Jia Jin, 52, of Toronto has been charged with:
- First Degree Murder
- Attempt Murder
He will attend court on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Old City Hall, in room 111 at 10 a.m.
