Toronto police responded to a shooting at an indoor soccer field in the area of Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue West on October 9th at approximately 7:20pm.
Police arrived to find Edwin Farley Alvarado Quintero, 49, of Woodbridge, suffering from a gunshot wound. the victim was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators said two other men were also injured and rushed to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.
According to reports, Edwin was a long-time referee who was attempting to de-escalate an altercation between opposing players when he was killed. The shooter was a spectator who attempted to shoot one of the players. He was not the intended target.

Homicide Investigators are seeking assistance from the public in identifying four men who are persons of interest in the case.
