Toronto Homicide 50 & 51 – Iva Barcelos and Joao Barcelos stabbed to death by their son

Toronto police responded to a 911 report of a multiple stabbing at 19 King George Road on September 12th at approximately 2:3pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Joao Barcelos, 64, suffering from multiple stab wounds outside of the residence, and Iva Barcelos, 59, also suffering from multiple stab wounds inside the home. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police later received a report that a man had been struck by the Union Pearson express train a short distance from the homicide. He has been identified as Tiberio Barcelos, 28, and is the son of victim #1 and victim #2 from 19 King George Road.

Police believe Tiberio is the suspect in the double homicide. Tiberio did not reside at 19 King George Road at the time of this incident. Police are asking anyone with information of Tiberio’s whereabouts prior to the homicides to contact investigators at 416-808-7400.
