21 Neat found guilty of two counts of 2nd-degree murder – Toronto Homicide 49 & 50 – Jahvante Smart aka Smoke Dawg, and Ernest Modekwe fatally shot downtown Toronto

Toronto police responded to a report of a shooting in the Queen Street West and Peter Street area on June 30th at approximately 7:56pm.

Police arrived to find two men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were rushed to hospital where Jahvante Smart, 21, AKA Toronto rapper Smoke Dawg, and Ernest Modekwe, 28, of Toronto died of their injuries. The female victim is expected to survive.

Update July, 2019
Abdulkadir Handule, 22, was arrested in July 2019 by RCMP officers in British Columbia for unrelated charges, and transferred to Toronto police.

Update February 25th 2022
Abdulkadir Handule also known by his rapper name “21 Neat” initially pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, however, Handule has been found guilty on  Feb, 24, 2022 of two counts of second-degree murder, as well as aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm.
