Update Michael Bebee arrested in Charlottetown – Toronto Homicide 34 – Police investigate the fatal shooting of Shamar Powell-Flowers

Toronto police responded to a call for a sound of gunshots in the Danforth Avenue and Carlaw Avenue area on July 23rd.

Police said an altercation occurred involving several people, that escalated and resulted in a firearm being discharged. Police arrived to find  Shamar Powell-Flowers, 29, of Toronto, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Investigators are requesting anyone who was driving in the area between the hours of 3:15-3:45 a.m., and who has dash-camera footage or other video surveillance, to contact police.

On Aug 4th, police arrested Mohamud Farah, 34, and charged him with second-degree murder.

On November 9th TPS announced they are searching for Michael Bebee, 35, of Toronto, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder.

Update: On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, Michael Bebee, 35, of Toronto, was arrested in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by TPS, following a tip from the public. He is facing a charge of Second Degree Murder and made a court appearance on May 1st in Toronto.
