Toronto Homicide #12 – victim identified as Amanda Killeen, 32, of Toronto.

Toronto police officers attended 291 George Street as part of inquiries into a missing woman on February 23rd at approximately 3:58am.

When police entered the third-floor apartment, an altercation occurred with a resident. Two officers opened fire, killing 45-year-old Gedi Ali Gedi.

Investigators had reason to believe a person has died under suspicious circumstances. On February 24th police discovered the remains of a human body. The remains have not yet been formally identified. Police said, “DNA testing is being carried out and police are not in a position to confirm the identity of the person until those results come back.”

As part of their investigation, they have charged Orson York, 59, of Toronto, with Indignity to a Human Body, however, as the investigation progressed police have now charged York with Accessory after the fact to murder.

Update March 5th
Tests on the remains have confirmed it is the body of Amanda Killeen, 32, of Toronto. Killeen was last seen on Friday, February 19, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., in the Dundas Street West and Scarlett Road area.

The victim’s mother has confirmed that Gedi was Amanda’s ex-boyfriend.

A gofundme campaign has been made for Amanda’s three children.
