The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating two deaths they describe as suspicious, involving a man and a woman, which may be a possible case of murder-suicide.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has launched an investigation into the deaths of a man and a woman, which they are currently treating as suspicious and potentially a murder-suicide.

Emergency responders were called around 5:15 a.m. on June 15th after two bodies were found in separate locations — one in a park in Pointe-des-Cascades and the other at a residence in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

The situation began when a passerby discovered the body of a 38-year-old man in the park. Police later attended a home linked to him, where they found a 32-year-old woman deceased. She is believed to have been the mother of two young children.

Although investigators believe the two individuals knew each other, that detail has not been officially confirmed.

At this stage, authorities have not disclosed how either person died, and all potential scenarios remain open. “All hypotheses are being considered,” said SQ spokesperson Ève Brochu-Joubert.

Specialized officers from the Crimes Against the Person unit, along with forensic identification experts, are now working to determine what happened.
