Brantford police responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in a townhouse complex on Sympatica Crescent at around 3am on February 6th.

Officers found John Liggins 44, suffering from a stab wound in the home. He was rushed to Brantford hospital where he died of his injuries.

Tara Lynn Koiter 32, the victim’s common law partner of 6 years, was arrested at the scene, and has since been charged with second degree murder.
