Jonathon Shingoose found dead in Port Coquitlam

Coquitlam RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 2300-block of Atkins Avenue in Port Coquitlam, On November 4th at approximately 5:44am.

Police arrived to find  Jonathon Shingoose, 36, suffering from serious injuries. Shingoose was rushed to hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Elwood Poorman was arrested on November 9th and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Shingoose.

Shawn Curtis George found dead on Port Coquitlam trail

RCMP responded to a report of an injured man on the Traboulay PoCo Trail behind the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre on February 11th at around 10pm.

The victim, 44 year old Shawn Curtis George died at the scene from injuries consistent with foul play. George who was known to police lived in the Tri-Cities area.

Fatal stabbing takes the life of Robert Harold Vidovich

Coquitlam RCMP responded to reports of an altercation at the Shaughnessy Square Shopping Centre on August 7th. Police arrived to find 65 year old Robert Vidovich suffering from a serious stab wound.

Vidovich was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries shortly after arrival. Homicide investigators said Vidovich was stabbed with an edged weapon.

The suspect is still on the loose. He has been described as Caucasian, 5’8″ to 5’10”, 150 pounds.

James Ivan Meanney has been arrested and is facing charges in the death of Robert Vidovich.

Port Coquitlam shooting leaves Yonatan Kassa dead

A Port Coquitlam resident called police on January 22 after he heard what he thought were firecrackers and subsequently found Yonatan Kassa on the ground moaning.

Police said the victim, was rushed to hospital, but could not be saved.
