Waterloo Regional police investigating a homicide in Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police were called to the Surrey Gardens townhouse complex at 241 Southwood Drive on January 31st at approximately 6:25am on report of an injured male.

Police arrived to find a male victim in distress. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Const. Andre Johnson said “Initial reports from witnesses have stated that they had heard gunshots earlier this morning,”

Homicide investigation launched into the death of Nicholas Samaroo in Pickering

Police said on  January 25, 2019 at approximately 7:30 a.m., they received a call from a woman who was walking her two dogs and came upon a deceased male in a wooded area.

The body of Nicholas Samaroo 24, was found with obvious signs of trauma near Liverpool Road North, about 150 meters north of Pine Ridge Secondary School.

Durham police’s homicide unit has taken over the case.

Police arrest and charge 2 people with second-degree murder – Ottawa police treating the disappearance of Susan Kublu-Iqqittuq as a homicide

Police said Susan Kublu-Iqqittuq, 37, was last seen in the area of Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue on January 10th at 10:45am.

On January 25th police stated in a press release the Ottawa Police Major Crime Unit is now investigating the missing person file of Susan Kuplu as a homicide.

One person who has not been identified has been placed in police custody and will be appearing in court January 26th .

Update January 29th
Lennese Kuplu, 18, of Ottawa, with second-degree murder and indignity to a human body in relation to the homicide of Susan Kuplu. Ottawa police arrested Dwight Brown, 28, on January 27th. Brown has been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to a body in relation to the Susan Kuplu homicide. 

Toronto Homicide #5 – Hanh “Hana” Nguyen stabbed to death

Toronto police and paramedics were called to a home on Mould Avenue, in the area of Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue, at around 6 a.m on January 24th.

First responders arrived to find two victims in the casement of the home. The female victim was pronounced at the scene and the male victim remains in hospital for treatment.

Police have not released the identity of the victim or if an arrest has been made. More information will be added as it becomes available.

Update January 25th
Police have identified the victim as Hanh “Hana” Nguyen, 41, of Toronto. The man found suffering from a stab wound has been identified as Austin Le, 40, of Toronto. He has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

Cameron Gardiner, charged in Collingwood Ontario double homicide.

The Blue Mountains OPP said an altercation took place at a residence at Georgian Blue housing complex on January 22, at approximately 1:30am that resulted in two deceased individuals.

The victims have not been identified as police are waiting on next of kin notification.

Cameron Gardiner, 57, of Collingwood has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder.  Police believe that there was a third person accompanied the two deceased, that person has not been identified by police.

OPP say man found dead on Highway 527 near the community of Armstrong, a Homicide

OPP said a body of a 21-year-old man from the GTA was discovered on the shoulder of highway 527 that connects the Trans-Canada Highway to the community of Armstrong on January 13th.

Sgt. Mike Golding, said the death is being treated as suspicious with foul play suspected. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.

Toronto Homicide #4 – Lingathasan Suntharamoorthy shot to death on Dundalk Drive

Toronto police responded to report of a shooting at 100 Dundalk drive on January 12th at approximately 12:18am.

Police and paramedics found Lingathasan Suntharamoorthy, 36, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Suntharamoorthy was pronounced at the scene.

Toronto Homicide #3 – 18-year-old Aseel Yehya shot to death

Toronto police responded to report of gunshots in the area of
Redwater Drive and Elmhurst Drive  on January 9th at 9:20 pm.

Police arrived to find 18-year-old Aseel Yehya , suffering from gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

It has been reported by Toronto Police that the young man was approached by a dark coloured vehicle when gunshots were heard. The victim attempted to flee the area on foot, when he was was shot and collapsed.

arrest made in St. Catharines 1st homicide of the year.

St. Catharines police were called to a residence in the area of Collier Street and Westchester Avenue for a welfare check on January 5th at 10:55am.

Police arrived to find a 53 year old male in distress. The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

28 year old Alexander Windsor from the City of Welland has been arrested and is facing a charge of second degree murder.

Updated: Toronto police investigating the City’s first homicide of 2019

Toronto police responded to report of a stabbing at approximately 12:24 a.m at a residential building near Gordonridge Pl. and Danforth Rd.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a man in his 30’s suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. Despite life saving efforts the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Update: Police have named the victim as 36 year old Ian Dyer, of Toronto.
