Police investigating the death of a woman found injured at the side of the road in Conception Bay dies in hospital

Newfoundland police said a 36-year-old woman was discovered on side of Minerals Road mid-day on Aug. 15 suffering from serious injuries.

The victim was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries. Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says police consider her death suspicious.

Police are urging people to come forward with any dash camera and CCTV footage from the area of Chris Porter Trucking on Minerals Road.  If you have any information regarding this investigation contact police at 709-729-8155.

RCMP lay first degree murder charge in the death of Chantel John, of Conne River.

Bay D’Espoir RCMP responded to report of a suspicious death of a woman on January 9th at approximately 930 pm.

Police arrived to the home where they found 28-year-old Chantel John, an indigenous woman of Conne River, deceased.

RCMP arrested 35-year-old Kirk Keeping of St. Jacques, NL, and charged him with first degree murder. Cause of death has not been released at this time.

Philip Charles Butler charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of his brother George Allan Butler

Police were called to the area of Comerford’s Road around 8 p.m. Police had cordoned off a house in Conception Bay South on May 21st.

Police lockated the body of George Butler at approximately 8:10pm. The cause of death has not been released at this time. Philip Butler 36, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in the death of his brother.

Vincent Belanger Dompierre identified as Labrador City homicide victim

Labrador City detachment of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a report of two men in an altercation at a home on Pine Avenue in the town of Labrador City, Thursday April 26th at approximately 3:00am.

RNC arrived at the scene to find 28-year-old  Vincent Belanger Dompierre, of Montreal, deceased. Police are asking  anyone who may have been in contact with Dompierre in recent weeks to contact them at 709-944-7602.

Vince Ward, 30,  was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder. Ward appeared at Provincial Court in Wabush on Thursday afternoon and remains in custody.

Update – Victoria Head found dead in St. John’s

Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a report of a deceased female in the area of O’Brien Farm on Oxen Pond Road on November 11th at approximately 8:20am.

An autopsy was completed revealing the identity of the victim as 36 year old Victoria Head, and the manner of death to be a homicide. Police are not releasing the cause of death at this time.

Police believe that Victoria Head may have been involved in the sex trade industry, which may be connected to her murder. Police are urging people involved in the sex trade industry, to be extra vigilant.

Steve Bragg, 35, of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Victoria Head.

Death of an 18 year old woman & Jeff Kilfoy a murder suicide

RCMP were investigating after two people were found dead over the weekend.

An 18 year old woman was found dead in a basement apartment inside a home on McGettigan Boulevard in Marystown September 16th.

The following day her partner 37 year old Jeff Kilfoy was found dead in a wooded area in the Mooring Cove area of Marystown.

RCMP have said that Kilfoy murdered the woman and then himself. No other information has been released at this time.

Second degree murder charge laid in the stabbing death of David Collins

St John’s police responded to report of a stabbing in the area of Alderberry Lane area near Mundy Pond at approximately 3:30 p.m. Thursday September 7th.

Police found 36 year old David Collins suffering from serious injuries. Collins was rushed to hospital where he dies later that day.

Police said Craig Pope, 31, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of David Collins.

Disappearance of Courtney Lake being investigated as a homicide

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are investigating the June 7th disappearance of Courtney Lake 24, as a homicide.

Lake was last seen leaving her home on Wellington Crescent in Mount Pearl, at 7:52pm, and getting into a truck on nearby Michener Ave at 7:54pm.

Police are asking for the Public’s help in identifying the vehicle and driver. The truck in question has a  camouflage “deer head “decal on the passenger side of the back (truck pan) window.


Police have released a youtube video of the suspects vehicle, and Lake entering the vehicle.
