Jessica Newman’s, body was found in a ditch in a rural area northeast Calgary March 10th.
The 24-year-old was missing for eight weeks before her body was found and was last seen alive at her workplace, the Water Grill. She leaves behind three young boys.
Calgary’s Kavin Rubletz is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jessica Rae Newman.

21 year old Chad Gosselin is charged with accessory to commit murder, a 15 year old male is charged with second degree murder and 20 year old Dylan Cameron is charged with manslaughter.
RCMP say Walker was killed in a home in Saddleridge, in NE Calgary.
His partially burned body was then dumped on the Tsuu T’ina Nation where it was found March 7 by a couple of fisherman near the Weaselhead Bridge.
The death of 14-year-old Hyde Hayden, whose body was found at the Roseau River First Nation over the weekend, is being investigated as a homicide, RCMP announced Tuesday.

Deng Mathew Garang Tong 23, was stabbed Feb 22 in an altercation that left four people with injuries. Police were called to a weapons complaint in the area. Police found Tong suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital where he died.
The other victims were rushed to hospital and suffered non life threatening injuries
5 people now charged in the Death of Tong. Keith James Phillips, 31, was arrested on Thursday May 19th 2016 and charged with first degree murder. Clinton Robert Kailek, 26, Billy Joe Nelson, 37, Jonathan Piche, 32, and Tyler Strathdee, 27, are also charged with first-degree murder in Tong’s death.
30-year-old Jaimend Roberto Orellana-Sincuir. He was shot just after 2 p.m. Feb 22nd, in the 2600 block of Edmonton Trail in the neighbourhood of Winston Heights-Mountview. He was transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Police took down Alan Devon Bird, 20, near Deerfoot Tr. and 32 Ave. N.E and he’s now charged with first-degree murder.
Police were called to a home on Whitworth Road N.E. on February 12th to check on welfare of a person outside.
When they arrived, officers discovered Dawns Echoes Baptiste 31 lying unresponsive in the backyard of the home. Paramedics declared her dead at the scene.
Curtis Jade Tyson Healy, 25, faces a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Baptiste. He is also accused of sexually assaulting Baptiste before killing her.
On Tuesday, February 10th the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the 24-year-old female found deceased in a downtown apartment on Monday evening. As a result of the autopsy, the Edmonton Police Service has confirmed the death to be the city’s second occurrence of homicide in 2015.
The deceased has been identified as Lena Steinhauer, 24 years of age.

Homicide Section detectives arrested Ryan Matchee on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, in Edmonton. Matchee is facing second degree murder charges.
Mustafa Mattan moved from Ottawa to Fort McMurray less than a month ago was shot dead in his Alberta apartment on Monday Feb 9th, his family told CBC News.
Mustafa Mattan, 28, was answering a knock at his apartment door on Monday night when someone shot through it.
“My brother, he was shot through the door before he even touched the door knob, before he even opened the door,” said his brother, Ahmed Mattan, who also lives in the Fort McMurray apartment, along with several other roommates.
“So the killer, whoever he or she might be, they didn’t even know who they were killing apart from the fact we were living in that apartment.”
Ahmed Mattan said his brother never committed a crime and never hurt anybody.
The man has been identified as 36-year-old Paul Murray Grandbois. The cause of death is not being released at this time because the investigation is still taking place.
Police were called to assist EMS in the Blue Quill Estates neighbourhood around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday Jan 21, where the body was found laying beside the curb on 25 Avenue, between 119 Street and 120 Street in Edmonton.
Police said they did not have any suspects.
Grandbois’ criminal record includes a July 2008 conviction of failing to comply with conditions, an April 2009 conviction for failing to appear, and a May 2009 conviction for breaching conditions. In December 2009 he was sentenced to 32 months in jail for sexual assault and in April 2013 Grandbois was sentenced to 30 days in jail for assault.
A routine licence plate check on a slow night led up to the shooting that killed Const. David Wynn in a casino near Edmonton on Jan 17th, 2015.
Deputy Commissioner Marianne Ryan said Wynn was in the casino parking lot checking licence plates — a common task for RCMP members on a slow night. Wynn got suspicious when one of the plates he checked did not match the truck that it was attached to. He decided to follow up by going inside the casino to check the building’s security footage.
After identifying a suspect on the video, the pair of RCMP officers happened to pass the man on the way out of the casino.
When the officers tried to arrest the man, he pulled a handgun and fired two shots. Wynn was hit in the head, while Bond was shot in the arm and torso. RCMP say the encounter lasted three to five seconds.
St. Albert RCMP has identified the man responsible for shooting two Mounties inside a casino early Saturday morning.
RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson said 34-year-old Shawn Maxwell Rehn had a lengthy, “incredibly complex criminal history” and was “very, very well known to police.”
Rehn was found dead inside a rural St. Albert-area home after an intense manhunt.
