The 2024 BC Homicide Victim List is available here

Texada RCMP responded to a call for service at a residence in the 5100 block of Para Street on Texada Island on September 2, 2024, early in the morning.

Responding officers located a deceased 81-year-old man believed to be a victim of a homicide.

VIIMCU was contacted and has since taken conduct of the investigation. The investigation remains in its early stages but investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to community safety.

RCMP said the investigation is ongoing and further details cannot be shared at this time. The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit are asking anyone who may have information about this incident to call the VIIMCU Information Line at (250) 380-6211.
