The St. Thomas Police Service and St. Thomas Fire responded to multiple 911 calls regarding a fire in an apartment unit at the corner of Hiawatha and Curtis Street on July 3rd at 12:30 a.m.
On arrival emergency crews located a female suffering from life-threatening injuries, unrelated to the fire. The individual was transported to hospital by EMS and has succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The victim in this incident has been identified as 40 year old, Victoria Dill of St. Thomas.
Police told a Homicide Canada source that the victim had been shot.
The fire is being treated as arson and the death, a homicide. The investigation is in the early stages and remains active.
Update July 30th
As the result of the investigation, 30 year old Nathan Deleemans of St. Thomas has been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder, one count Arson – disregard for human life and one count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
The St. Thomas Police are seeking public assistance in locating 21 year old Keegan Harvey of St. Thomas who has been charged with one count of Arson – Disregard for Human Life and one count of Accessory After the Fact to Murder in relation to this active homicide investigation.
Harvey is described as Caucasian, 5’10, with brown hair and an arm sleeve tattoo on his right arm. Do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately if seen or located.
Update:
St Thomas police arrested Keegan Harvey at a London address on Wednesday July 31st 2024.
Harvey was transported to STPS headquarters where he was processed on the charges and held for a morning court appearance where he was remanded into custody.
