Scott Matthew Catcheway found deceased following a serious assault in Winnipeg

Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 400 block of Young Street for a report of a disturbance and a serious assault on May 4th at 9:02 p.m.

On arrival police located Scott Matthew Catcheway, 39, deceased near a house.

Update May 22nd
The Winnipeg Homicide Unit has identified Neigel Ryan NOEL, 53, as a suspect, and he is currently wanted for Second Degree Murder. Investigators believe Noel has fled to Ontario, and possibly to the Thunder Bay area.

  • NOEL is 5’9” in height, with a heavy build.
  • Tattoos include: “VENI VIDI VICI” on his chest and “CREAM” on his right arm

Police have advised the public not to approach NOEL as he may be armed. Anyone with information that may assist investigators Is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Update June 3rd
On June 2nd 2022, the Homicide Unit flew to Toronto, Ontario, where they arrested and charged Neigel Ryan NOEL, 53, with:

  •  Second Degree Murder
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
