Laval Police were called to the Sheraton Hotel on report of a shooting on May 4th, at 10 p.m.

On arrival police and paramedics located Salvatore Scoppa, 49,  suffering from serious injuries. Scoppa was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Scoppa is the brother of alleged Montreal Mafia leader Andrea Scoppa.

No arrests have been made at this time.
