Safar Ali Safari identified as Calgary’s latest homicide victim

Calgary police received reports of a man being dropped off at the Peter Lougheed Centre, suffering from gunshot wounds on October 16th at approximately 9:00pm. The victim, who has been identified as Safar Ali Safari, 21, died of his injuries at the hospital.

According to reports Safari was with a group of individuals in multiple vehicles in the area of 84 Street and McKnight Boulevard N.E. when he was shot. Police are asking anyone who may have dash camera footage, including truck drivers, or anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area of 84 Street and McKnight Boulevard N.E., between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., on Friday evening, to contact police at 403-428-8877.
