The remains of 72 year old Richard Blair Young were found near the Arbutus rest stop on the Malahat Highway on March 3rd. Vancouver Island RCMP said Young has been missing since February.

Police have not released the cause of death, only saying that the death of Richard Young is being investigated as a homicide.

Joseph “Bob” Gelineau was arrested by officers with the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU). He has been charged with first-degree murder and indignity to human remains. He remains in custody.
