RCMP say body found following a fire in North Battleford a homicide

North Battleford RCMP, North Battleford Fire Department and local EMS responded to a structure fire in the RM of North Battleford on January 19th at approximately 10:30pm.

Police said the location was an abandoned residence north of the junction of Highway 687 and 378. Once the fire was contained, human remains were found inside the burnt structure. The death is being treated as a homicide and identity of the deceased is currently unknown.

Anyone has any information or observed suspicious activity in the area from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on January 19, 2021, they are urged to contact the North Battleford RCMP at 306-446-1720

Update February 6th
An autopsy was conducted on January 21st and Police have identified the victim as Jordon Daniel Boire, 29, of Saskatoon. Boire was last seen in Saskatoon on January 19th.
