Yellowhead RCMP received a report from a passerby of an unresponsive woman found in a ditch along Provincial Road 354 south of Oak River, on February 26th at approximately 8:00am.

Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported the female to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Police said the victim is a 40 year old woman but have not released her identity.

The investigation is ongoing.
