Update: Three more men charged in the 2020 homicide of Wesley Custer in Shellbrook Saskatchewan

RCMP Major Crimes Unit North has identified the male victim who was brought to the Shellbrook Hospital on August 21st as Wesley Custer, 20 years old, originally from Denare Beach.

Police said Custer died in hospital from his injuries and his death has been declared a homicide. Major Crimes Unit North is asking for the public assistance in identifying Wesley whereabouts, what he did, who he was within the days leading up to his death.

Anyone who has been in recent contact with Wesley Custer, or possess information regarding his recent contacts, is asked to please call Shellbrook RCMP at (306) 747-2606.

Police have not released the victim’s identity or cause of death at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222

On May 19, 2022, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team and Warrant Enforcement Suppression Team arrested Evan Ledoux on outstanding charges from Prince Albert Police Service and Ahtahkakoop RCMP, and charged him with Manslaughter.

On May 22, 2022, Curtis Ledoux was arrested from the Prince Albert Correctional Centre and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

On May 25, 2022, Tyson Lachance, was arrested at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre and is charged with one count, second degree murder

Investigators have charged three additional individuals in relation to Custer’s death. 30-year-old Brian Dreaver from Ahthakakoop First Nation, 25-year-old Kyle Standing from Saskatoon and 29-year-old Matthew Whitstone from Pelican Lake First Nation are each charged with one count, first degree murder.
