Alberta RCMP has extended the time frame for our $10,000 reward – Elijah Blake Strawberry is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Rocky View County

Strathmore RCMP responded to the report of a shooting at Range Road 282 and Township Road 250, located in Rocky View County on August 6th at approximately 11:56 a.m.

On arrival police located two injured people. One victim died of their injuries.

Investigators said the suspects fled the scene in a stolen Rocky View County work truck. They dumped the truck at Range Road 260 and Township Road 252, located in Wheatland County, Alta., and fled the scene.  RCMP quickly located this vehicle, and a search of the area was conducted with assistance from numerous RCMP detachments, Police Dog Services, RCMP Emergency Response Team.

Investigators said there was a potential witness to the shooting, and RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying them.

In the attached picture, you can see what is believed to be a dark grey coloured Volkswagen Golf Sportwagon, potentially between 2013 and 2015. This car was captured on dash cam video driving past the scene at Range Road 282 and Township Road 250, at the same time the shooting occurred, on Aug. 6 at 11:55 a.m.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Strathmore RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying a person of interest in the homicide investigation. He was seen in Cochrane on Aug. 5, 2024, between 7 and 8 a.m. If you can identify this male, please contact Strathmore RCMP at 403-934-3968. Update: RCMP have charged a 35-year-old individual, a resident of Edmonton with the first-degree murder of Airdrie resident Colin John Hough as well as attempted murder of another individual.

According to CBC News “Accessed court records that offer new information about the two men accused of murdering a Good Samaritan in the course of a carjacking.”

RCMP continue to search for the second suspect in the shooting. Elijah Blake Strawberry, 28-years-old, now has a warrant for his arrest for the second-degree murder of Colin Hough. RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Strawberry.

Elijah Strawberry is described as:

  • Light complexion
  • 6 feet 1 inch tall
  • 169 pounds
  • Several arm and face tattoos
  • Brown hair
  • Several Tattoos. The most recognizable of these tattoos include: “Trust” on left hand, “Honour and Loyalty” on right hand, X’s and cobweb on right forehead, geometric lines on left neck and face that extend onto his forehead.

Elijah Strawberry is considered armed and dangerous. If seen do not approach dial 911 immediately.
