RCMP alongside IHIT investigate the discovery of a body in a burnt-out vehicle in Ridge Meadows

Ridge Meadows police responded to a report of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames at the 14300 block of 256th Street on November 24, at approximately 11:15 pm.

On arrival, Maple Ridge Fire Department was on the scene to extinguish the fire. Upon further investigation, the body of a deceased person was located inside the vehicle.

Ridge Meadows RCMP will work with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). It is unknown now if this is related to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Investigators are looking for any witnesses who saw or heard anything relating to this incident. If you have dash camera footage from Maple Ridge on November 24, 2022 between the hours of 10 pm to midnight and have not spoken with police please call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448
