Prince Albert Police investigate the homicide of 21-year-old Madison Rene Bird-Simaganis

Prince Albert Police Service stopped a vehicle in the 1400 Block of 6th Avenue West to conduct an investigation into erratic driving on January 9th, just before midnight.

Police said 21-year-old Madison Rene Bird-Simaganis was located in the vehicle suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A suspect has been identified and police said the victim and the suspect are believed to be known to each other. Anyone with information is asked to contact contact Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222.

Update January 15th
A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of Joseph Curtis Madden, 24, for one count of second-degree murder. Madden is described as 5’6” tall and 140 lbs. He has a tattoo of a CROSS on his left hand between the thumb and forefinger, and a tattoo of “MADDEN” on his right forearm. Madden is also known to go by the name of Curtis and has ties to Prince Albert, Saskatoon, and Cumberland House areas.

Update January 25th
Joseph Curtis MADDEN, was arrested at a residence in the 1300 Block of Main Street in Saskatoon on January 22nd.  He is charged with second degree murder in the homicide of 21-year-old Madison Rene Bird-Simaganis.
