Edmonton Northwest Branch patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 172 Avenue and 111 Street on July 24 at around 5:30pm.

On arrival police located Shafeeq Khatab, 21, suffering from injuries. An autopsy completed on July 26th and the Edmonton Medical Examiner determined that Shafeeq Khatab, 21, died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives are hopeful that dash camera footage from the area may assist with their investigation and are encouraging anyone that was driving in the area of 111 Street and 172 Avenue on Monday July 24, 2023, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567
