Gatineau police were called to the report of a fight at a home on promenade Wychwood in the Aylmer neighbourhood at approximately 12:30am on February 15th.

Police arrived to find Norman Richards, 61, and Luk Deslauriers-Forest, 37, suffering from injuries. Both men were rushed to hospital where Norman Richards, died of his injuries.

The other injured man suffered less serious injuries and is being detained in hospital as part of the investigation. Police said Deslauriers-Forest is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the city’s first homicide of the year.
