Boyle RCMP along with emergency personnel responded to a mobile home fire in Boyle on December 8th, 2019 at approximately 5:40am. The remains of 41-year-old Melissa Lyne, were located once the blaze was extinguished.

Originall police were calling the death suspicious, however, a lengthy investigation revealed the death was a homicide. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit have charged Mario Bernier, 55, in relation to a suspicious death of Melissa Lyne who was located after a mobile home fire was reported on Dec. 18, 2019 in Boyle.
