Arun Bains, Surrey B.C’s latest homicide victim

A street-level drug trade in Surrey that has resulted in lots of shootings has claimed the life of Arun Bains,  and RCMP worry that retaliation may soon follow.

Twenty-two year old Arun Paul Singh Bains died April 19th, hours after shots were fired at 3 a.m.in Surrey.

The RCMP has not confirmed whether this latest shooting is connected to a recent violence between gangs, but they did say they believed this was a targeted shooting.

The rival gangs are of Somali and South Asian descent.

 

44-year-old Rodney Conway found dead.

Calgary police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found outside of a strip mall on Macleod Trail in Calgary on April 18th.

Police say the deceased man has been identified as Rodney Conway, and the location where the body was found, combined with trauma to the body, make the death suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call Calgary police or Crime Stoppers.

Murder charge laid in death of Eleanor Anthonysz

Eleanor Anthonysz, 33, was found dead inside a traileron April 17th after Mission RCMP were called to the 9200-block Shook Road because the trailer was on fire.

Walter Ramsey, 42, was found at another home and arrested in connection with Anthonysz’s death. He faces one count of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of arson for allegedly setting fire to the trailer.

Godfrey Hayden stabbed to death in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg police have charged two men with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Godfrey Hayden on April 17th.

22-year-old Ivan Richard is charged with second-degree murder, flight from police and driving while prohibited. 18-year-old Walter Anderson is charged with second-degree murder.

Elmer Libertino murdered in Burnaby

A police officer on routine patrol found Libertino lying in a pool of blood in the middle of Moscrop Street at Smith Avenue on Thursday, April 16.
