Ottawa police were called to the report of a shooting in the 2000 block of Banff Avenue on July 5th at approximately 12:30pm.

Police arrived to find 24-year-old Abdulhamid Haji Ragab with life-threatening injuries. police said llife-saving efforts were started immediately, and he was transported to the hospital by Ottawa Paramedics where he died of his injuries.

The Homicide Unit is working with the Guns and Gangs Unit and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5493.
