Orlan Marcel Dennis charged in connection with a double homicide in Tsay Keh Dene BC

On April 9, 2024, Tsay Keh Dene RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in a residence with injuries to multiple people.

On arrival at approximately 10:30 p.m police located a man with a firearm who ran into a second nearby home. At approximately 12:20 a.m., on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 negotiations were initiated and remained on-going.

After several hours the North District Emergency Response Team and supporting elements were deployed and arrived at approximately 5:40 a.m. Police said negotiations deteriorated resulting in ERT deploying a chemical irritant into the residence.

The suspect reportedly exited the second residence with a firearm and officers discharged an extended range impact munition and their firearms striking him. First aid was provided at the scene before the man was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said two people were located deceased in the original residence of the complaint.

On Friday, April 12, 2024 Orlan Marcel Dennis has been charged with two counts of 2nd degree murder, and is currently in custody.
