The 2022 Ottawa Homicide Victim List is available here

Ottawa police were called to an address located in the 1 to 100 block of Woodvale Drive on September 11th at approximately 10:22 a.m.

On arrival police discovered Savanna Pikuyak, 23, of Sanirajak, Nunavut, deceased. Nikolas IBEY was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder in relation to the homicide. The cause of death and the relationship between the deceased and the accused has not been revealed at this time.

According to CBC, Pikuyak had just moved to Ottawa from Nunavut to attend Algonquin College on Sept 8th. Pikuyak had answered a Facebook marketplace ad for a rental, and moved into a room in a rowhouse located at 4 Woodvale Green. Ibey was her roommate and the home was owned by his brother.
