New Brunswick RCMP Northeast Community Crime Reduction Unit began an investigation into an aggravated assault at a medical facility in Campbellton on November 16th.
Police said Ronald Savoy, 49, of Eel River Crossing, N.B. suffered serious injuries during the altercation. Savoy died of his injuries on December 23rd. Police are investigating his death as a homicide.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on November 29 in connection with the aggravated assault. He will be appearing in Campbellton Provincial Court at a later date.
Update April 13th
RCMP announced that Jordan Shawn Deyoung, who is now 26, appeared in Campbellton Provincial court and was charged with second degree murder. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on April 24 at 11 a.m.
