 Winnipeg Police responded to reports of an assault at an apartment block located at 375 Assiniboine Ave on July 4th at approximately 3:30am.

On arrival police located 17-year-old Jaden Charles John Oman, 17, in critical condition. Oman was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. According to winnipegfreepress.com Oman leaves behind his grieving family and one-year-old daughter.

Winnipeg police arrested Samuel David Hastings, 19, who was an acquittance of Oman, and charged him with second degree murder.
