Port Alberni RCMP said first responders were notified of a 6 year old boy in medical distress, who hours later was pronounced dead. At the time the victims mother claimed he had fallen down the stairs

The victim was identified as 6-year-old Dontay Lucas. After a lenghty investigation on Friday May 6 the Port Alberni RCMP arrested Dontay’s mother, Rykel Frank nee Charleson and her now husband Mitchell Frank and charges were approved for the first degree murder of Dontay Lucas.
