Update: arrest made – Montreal police said three are dead following stabbings in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough

Montreal police responded to a fight in a parking lot between St-André and Mentana streets, on May 22nd at approximately 7:00pm.

On arrival police and paramedics located three victims, a 15-year-old boy, Ulrick Peterson Célestin, 25, and Alexandre Vatamanu, 23, all suffering from stabbing injuries. All three were rushed to hospital where they died of their injuries.

Montreal police’s major crimes division Cmdr. Jean-Sébastien Caron said the three men who died knew each other and that investigators have identified several suspects. No arrests have been made at this time.

Update May 30th Police said 19-year-old, Yero Sava Dogo, was arrested, and appeared in court on May 30th to be formally charged with second-degree murder for killing Alexandre Vatamanu Salamanca. He remains in custody and will appear in court again on June 11. Police said they believe two of the three victims were involved in the killings. 

“The numerous pieces of evidence analyzed following the event show that one of the deceased victims was directly involved in two of the murders, while another of the deceased victims was responsible for the third murder,” said Maj. Jean-Sébastien Caron, of the Montreal Police.
