According to police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils, a 911 call was received around 4:15 a.m., reporting a dispute between two men inside a building on Décarie Boulevard, near Beaudet Street.

When officers arrived, they found the 30-year-old man lying unconscious on the sidewalk. He had sustained upper-body injuries caused by a sharp object.

The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but later succumbed to his injuries.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody, Chèvrefils confirmed. Police believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
