Durham Region police were called to a residence on Phillip Murray Avenue in Oshawa, after a young child returned home to find his grandmother deceased on November 2nd at approximately 3:30pm.
Police and paramedics arrived to find 67-year-old Ruth Humphries deceased. An autopsy was performed and revealed significant trauma to the victim’s body that was not consistent with accidental or self-inflicted injuries.
On Friday, November 5, 2021, investigators from the DRPS Major Crime – Homicide Unit arrested Ludmila AUCLAIR, age 40 of Oshawa. She was charged with Second Degree Murder. Police did not release the relationship between the victim and the accused, only saying it was an isolated incident and investigators are not looking for any other suspects in this investigation.
