Larry Stevens charged with manslaughter in relation to a fatal motor vehicle accident

Cape Breton Regional Police Staff Sgt. Phillip Ross said that James Bernard Bonar, 37, of Sydney was walking along the road with Larry Stevens, 34,  when a fight broke out.

Bonar was left in an “incapacitated state” before being struck by the vehicle police said. Stevens was not the operator of the motor vehicle, according to police.

Larry Stevens has been charged with manslaughter in the death of James Bonar.

Police information filed in Sydney provincial court says, Stevens unlawfully killed Bonar by striking him and knocking him to the pavement, rendering him unconscious and vulnerable to traffic, which resulted in his death.
