Kamsack RCMP arrest 19-year-old Edgar Kakakaway Jr. from Keeseekoose First Nation, who is wanted for the murder of a 16-year-old in Cote First Nation

The Kamsack RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit are asking the public to help locate 19-year-old Edgar Kakakaway Jr. from Keeseekoose First Nation, SK. Charges against Kakakaway Jr. include Second Degree Murder, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Failing to comply with a condition of a release order.

Police said he is wanted in relation to the murder of a 16-year-old boy from Cote First Nation on Saturday, November 19, 2022. The victim’s identity and cause of death have not been released.

Kakakaway Jr is described to be six feet tall and weighing 210 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Keeseekoose First Nation, Cote First Nation, Kamsack, Canora, and Yorkton areas

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Edgar Kakakaway Jr. is asked to contact Kamsack RCMP at 306-542-5560 or their local police. 

Update
On November 22, 2022, Edgar Kakakaway Jr. was arrested without incident on Keeseekoose First Nation.

RCMP announced on December 1st, 41-year-old Edgar Lyle Kakakaway (senior) of Kamsack, SK, was charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.
