Sudbury police announced on December 15th that arrests and charges have been laid in relation to the overdose death of a man.

Detectives from the Major Crime Section of the Criminal Investigation Division with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police Service arrested 34-year-old Bidah Preet Singh Bhatia of Waterloo for Manslaughter and Trafficking a Schedule I Substance. Investigators conducted a search warrant at the suspect’s home in Waterloo where they seized over $200,000 in cash and an additional $300,000 in property that is believed to be the proceeds of crime.

On December 17, 2022, police also arrested 30-year-old Joshua McInnes on Keith Avenue in Chelmsford. He has been charged with Manslaughter in relation to the overdose death of the 48-year-old victim on August 17, 2022.
