Jordan Myles Auger, charged with the murder of Renee Marie Larocque following a house fire in Edmonton

Edmonton police were called to assist Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) at a residence in the area of 121 Avenue and 37 Street on February 13, 2024, at approximately 2:36 a.m.

While extinguishing the fire, firefighters located a female in the basement who was later declared deceased on scene. She has been identified as Renee Marie Larocque, 35, died of smoke inhalation. The manner of her death is homicide.

As a result of the investigation Jordan Myles Auger, 37, has been arrested and is charged with manslaughter, arson to property showing disregard for human life and breach of conditions of release order.
