Peel police responded to a homicide that occurred at a residence on Rushbrook Drive in Brampton on September 22 at 4:45pm.

On arrival police located 26-year-old Guryodh Khattra suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency services, Khattra died of his injuries. A second person was also injured but expected to survive.

On Tuesday, October 12, 2022, Jerome Downey-Apple, a 20-year-old man from Brampton was charged with First Degree Murder in the shooting death of Guryodh Khattra and charged with Aggravated Assault on the second victim.
