Chilliwack RCMP responded to a call about a suspicious incident where they discovered a woman in the 7500 block of Vedder Road around 11 a.m on April 21st.

The case has since been handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), which confirmed on Tuesday that the victim was 37-year-old Chantelle Ruhl, a local resident of Chilliwack. Police noted that Ruhl did not have a permanent home and was often seen in the area where her body was located.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information or video footage related to the case to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
