Paramedics Services and the Georgina Fire and Emergency Services were called to a residence on Miami Drive for a report of a house on fire on January 15th, shortly after 5:00am.

After the blaze was extinguished, firefighters located the homeowner, Sandy Gauthier, 85, deceased. An autopsy was performed and revealed the manner of death to be a homicide. The cause of death has not been released.

Police are asking anyone who has video surveillance or dash cam footage from the area or of the incident to contact investigators, or who may have seen something suspicious to contact police at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865.
