Halifax police make an arrest in the homicide of Alexander Joseph Frederick Thomas

Halifax police responded to a report of an unresponsive man in a dwelling on Braeside Court in Dartmouth on November 13th at 1:45am.

Officers located Alexander Joseph Frederick Thomas deceased at the scene. An autopsy was performed and revealed the manner of death to be a homicide. The Cause of death has not been released.

On November 18th police laid charges of second-degree murder against Tyreece Alexander Whynder-Ewing, 27, and obtained a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest. Whynder-Ewing turned himself in at approximately 3:00pm that same day, and was arrested in Toronto, Ontario.
