RCMP received a call from the Berens River First Nation medical nursing station on June 12th, reporting a young man in medical distress.

RCMP arrived to find Garon Cochrane (who was identified by family and friends) already dead. Family members said he was stabbed in the neck.

A 16 year old boy has been taken into custody and has been charged with manslaughter.
