Five people in connection to the 2021 homicide of Lane Tailfeathers

Crowsnest Pass RCMP responded to the report of possible human remains in a rural area on July 20th 2021.

Initially, police declared the death suspicious. An autopsy was performed and identified the victim as Lane Tailfeather, 35, from Fort Macleod, Alta., who had been reported missing by his family a month earlier.

On May 13, 2022, RCMP announced that they have arrested five individuals in relation to Tailfeathers’ homicide. Police said charges are pending, and their identities will be made public once charges have been laid.
