Ève Chachai, a 54-year-old woman from the Atikamekw Community of Opitciwan, was found unconscious and in critical condition early Monday morning at Hôtel Le Montagnais.

Éric Latour, 44, is charged with involuntary manslaughter following the death of his partner, Ève Chachai.

Saguenay police spokesperson Hervé Berghella confirmed that the victim was taken off life support at the hospital August 13th 2024 in afternoon and passed away.
