Update: EPS investigates the discovery of Kevin Charles Hind, in a burning vehicle

Edmonton police were called to assist Edmonton Fire Rescue Services in response to a burning truck in the area of 146 Avenue and 25 Street 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023.

The body of a man was found inside the vehicle once the fire was extinguished. Police said On Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on the deceased male and determined that the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death is being withheld at this time for investigative reasons.

The vehicle, a white Chevrolet pickup truck, was captured circling the Fraser neighbourhood between the hours of 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 3 and 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 4. Videos of the vehicle and a suspect who was seen running away from the scene can be seen here.

Update: Police have identified the deceased as Kevin Charles Hind, 29. The cause of death continues to be withheld while officers investigate.
